Hiroshi Kitamura Numa Menorca 2025

Exhibition Highlights
Hiroshi Kitamura is a Japanese multidisciplinary artist born in Hokkaido in 1955. In 2012, he relocated to Camallera, a small village in the Empordà region of Spain. With over four decades of artistic trajectory, Kitamura has become a reference in experimenting with natural materials and artisanal processes. His work often explores the connection between art and territory, reflecting his experiences and environments.
His sculptures and paintings guide us through a process where matter is transformed, materials carry memory, and fleeting beauty becomes a central theme. Each artwork echoes its surrounding environment, extended through the artist’s subtle intervention — a presence that accompanies, shapes, and ultimately allows nature to speak in its own voice.
Hiroshi Kitamura’s work encourages a deep exploration of the bond between art and the natural world.
