Exhibition Highlights

Transitar el siglo XX. Dibujo y escultura en las Colecciones ICO

Discover the heart of the collection at the ICO Museum.

Come and see how the world’s big social and political shifts shaped the way artists play with lines, shapes, and space.

There are together works from thirty-four talented creators, including both sculptors and architects, spanning from the early 1900s right up to the 1980s. By pairing sculptures with their original drawings, we’re offering a unique “behind-the-scenes” look at the creative process and the fascinating conversation between a sketch on paper and a finished 3D form.

The exhibition features legendary names from the early avant-garde and Cubist movements, like Pablo Picasso, Julio González, and Juan Gris. You’ll also find contemporary works by Miquel Barceló and Susana Solano, alongside Spanish art icons such as Carmen Laffón, Eduardo Chillida, and Jorge Oteiza.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to see how art evolved over decades—moving from the delicate beauty of paper to the powerful presence of solid matter.
