Upon the Land, Beneath the Shadow

The project “Upon the Land, Beneath the Shadow” is a tribute to this bond between the land and women. Inspired by the reflections of essayist Leire Milikua on the contemporary countryside and created by female artists, photographers, and writers, it offers us a decentralized, diverse, and multifocal portrait of today’s rural world, always with one eye on the previous generation and another on the one to come. A safeguard of intergenerational female memory that takes objects, places, and landscapes as its cornerstones. This collaborative work carried out by women is a true reclamation of that land we refuse to inhabit under the weight of so many shadows.
