The CGAC – Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea is one of Spain’s most important public institutions dedicated to contemporary art.
Located in Santiago de Compostela, the museum opened in 1993 and was designed by renowned architect Álvaro Siza, whose minimalist building is considered a landmark of contemporary architecture.
CGAC focuses on modern and contemporary art from Galicia, while placing it in dialogue with major international artists and movements.
Its programme includes exhibitions, performances, film, and educational activities that encourage critical thinking and experimentation.
The collection features works by artists such as Francisco Leiro, Maruja Mallo, Richard Long, and Dan Graham.
CGAC plays a key role in promoting Galician culture within a global contemporary art context, making it a reference point in Spain’s institutional art landscape.
