Andrea Canepa. Between the Deep and the Distant

Created especially for IVAM, the exhibition Entre lo profundo y lo distante (Between the Deep and the Distant) invites us to see time in a whole new way. Drawing inspiration from David Abram’s book The Spell of the Sensuous, the project explores the beautiful idea that time is actually woven into the landscape around us.

In this vision, the past and future live right alongside us in the present. The past isn't gone; it stays with us, resting beneath our feet in layers of earth, ancient coral, and even the deepest parts of our own minds. The future, meanwhile, waits on the horizon—a shifting boundary that connects where we are now with the mystery of what lies ahead, moving gracefully with us as we walk toward it.
