ExperimentalExhibition Highlights
FUNGI: Anarchist Designers is an exhibition that invites you to see nature’s most mysterious workers in a whole new light. Curators Tsing and Zhou describe the show as ‘anti-design’—a space where fungi aren’t just passive materials for us to use, but wild and unpredictable partners. Together, we explore how humans and fungi shape a world that relies on the deep connections between all living things.
The exhibition reveals the hidden life of fungi across every scale imaginable. You’ll find them in the most surprising places: from your kitchen dishwasher and hospital beds to termite mounds, the human digestive system, and vast coffee, banana, and conifer plantations.
This isn’t just another display of trendy, matte-white mycelium lamps or eco-friendly building blocks. Instead, it celebrates fungi as independent, living forces that thrive in the messy cracks of our modern world. It’s a story about survival, connection, and the beautiful complexity of the world we share.
