Contemporary ArtExhibition Highlights
What does it mean to be a man in today’s world? It’s a question that feels more relevant than ever, especially as we see the rise of the ‘manosphere’—those online spaces where a loud, often aggressive version of masculinity has taken hold. But is that the only way to look at it?
Bringing together pieces from the Stedelijk Museum’s collection along with special loans and brand-new commissions, Manosphere takes a closer look at the stories and images that shape our ideas of manhood. This exhibition shows that masculinity is about much more than just power; it’s also a lived experience that can be complicated, everyday, and deeply tender. Join us to explore works by artists including Lucy McKenzie, Eduardo Paolozzi, Melle, Sands Murray-Wassink, Salman Toor, and Bruno Zhu.
