Matter Matters, is an exploration of how the physical stuff around us shapes our lives. We’re taking a closer look at where materials come from, how we use them, and why those choices matter now more than ever. By pairing classic pieces from our collection with exciting contemporary works, we dive into today’s big challenges—from the global shortage of raw materials to the collective goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.

We find ourselves at a unique turning point, moving away from a mindset of simply taking from the earth and toward a more thoughtful, regenerative way of creating. The exhibition weaves together design, nature, and global politics to show how even the smallest material choices can change the world.
