Exhibition Highlights
It’s been more than a century in the making, and the wait is finally over. The 74 cards of the world-famous Colleoni deck—the most complete set in existence—are back together again. Usually separated between the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo, The Morgan Library in New York, and a private collection, these rare treasures have been reunited for a truly special exhibition.
This rare reunion is the heart of an incredible journey spanning seven centuries. From the mid-1400s all the way to the present day, we explore the rich history of tarot, the artists who created them, and the latest scientific discoveries that help us understand their secrets. Thanks to prestigious loans from across Italy and the world, you’ll see firsthand why these cards continue to fascinate us after all this time.
Tarot began as a luxury pastime in the elegant courts of Northern Italy, but as printing became common, the cards evolved from an elite hobby into a popular game and, eventually, a tool for divination. From their royal origins to contemporary artistic reinterpretations, this exhibition offers the most complete look at the cultural and symbolic world of tarot ever presented.
