Accademia Carrara

The Accademia Carrara in Bergamo,is a unique space often called Italy’s "museum of collecting." Founded back in 1796 by Giacomo Carrara, the museum has a heartwarming history: its entire collection was built from the generous gifts of art lovers who wanted to share their personal treasures with the city and the wider world.

Inside, you’ll find an incredible journey through Italian art history, spanning from the Gothic era all the way to the 19th century. The gallery is home to world-famous masterpieces by legendary names like Raphael, Botticelli, Bellini, Pisanello, and Mantegna.
