The Blanton Museum of Art is one of the leading university art museums in the United States, located on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.
Founded in 1963, the museum houses a collection of more than 21,000 works, with particular strengths in European paintings, modern and contemporary American art, and Latin American art.
One of its most celebrated features is Austin (2018) by Ellsworth Kelly — a freestanding stone building often described as a “secular chapel.” The luminous colored glass windows and minimalist interior create a contemplative, immersive experience.
