Coming to New York City’s Lower East Side in 2026, CANYON is a vibrant new 40,000-square-foot home for art that moves and breathes. It’s a space dedicated to video, sound, and performance—the kind of work that invites you to slow down and stay a while.

Founded by Robert Rosenkranz and led by Joe Thompson, CANYON is designed for art that deserves more than just a quick glance. A unique mix of a museum, a concert hall, and a social hub, the venue will feature evening hours, great hospitality, and the latest technology to help you truly immerse yourself in every experience.

Located in a beautifully transformed space, CANYON will offer 18,000 square feet of high-tech galleries and a 300-seat performance hall hosting concerts, film screenings, and live podcast tapings. You’ll also find a bright, skylit piazza filled with cafes, bars, and a restaurant—creating a welcoming spot to gather with friends and talk about what you've seen.

Designed by New Affiliates Architecture, the venue blends the best of a world-class art gallery with the energy of a neighborhood hangout. It’s a place where, as Rosenkranz says, visitors are encouraged to "take the time to have the experiences the artists intended."
