Exhibition Highlights
Meet Anders Zorn (1860–1920), the boy from a small Swedish village who became one of the most famous painters of his time. Zorn’s journey is a remarkable one, taking him from humble beginnings to the grand halls of royalty and world leaders. A true master of oil painting, watercolor, and engraving, his incredible talent made him a sought-after artist across Europe and the United States.
Our exhibition, "Traveling the World, Remembering the Land," takes you on a journey through Zorn’s adventurous life and career. You’ll see how his work evolved, from his early travels and time in Paris—where he was a leading figure in the art world—to his eventual return home to Sweden in 1896 and his trips to America. This collection shows the two sides of Zorn: the sophisticated world-traveler who painted famous faces, and the artist who remained deeply connected to the traditional life of his homeland. You’ll also find his beautiful Spanish works from Seville, Cadiz, and Granada, as well as pieces that highlight his friendships with fellow art legends Joaquín Sorolla and Ramón Casas.
