Galerie Templon is one of Paris’s most influential contemporary art galleries, founded in 1966 by French dealer Daniel Templon when he was just 21 years old. It began in a small space on rue Bonaparte in Saint-Germain-des-Prés and moved in 1972 to the Marais district near the Centre Pompidou, where it quickly became a reference for cutting-edge contemporary art in France.
From its early years, Templon championed conceptual and minimal art, introducing the French public to major international figures like Dan Flavin, Ellsworth Kelly, Andy Warhol, Frank Stella, Joseph Kosuth, Donald Judd and more. Over the decades the gallery has exhibited artists now central to art history — including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, Cesar, Christian Boltanski, and Yayoi Kusama.
