Exhibition Highlights

André Ricard’s designs are the quiet companions of our daily lives. Often so natural they become invisible, his creations are built with a simple goal: to solve real-world problems and make our day-to-day routines just a little bit better.

In this exhibition, we move away from traditional timelines. Instead, you are invited to explore Ricard’s work through the places where these objects truly come to life: the kitchen, the bathroom, the studio, and the table—the spaces where we work, celebrate, and make memories.

Inspired by the 1995 exhibition Le design au quotidien, which Ricard curated himself, this show is a collaboration between the Madrid Design Festival, Disseny Hub Barcelona, and the FAD, with the support of AC Marca and Tatay. We have removed the display cases to show these everyday items in their true context, highlighting the timeless nature of designs that continue to be a part of our homes today.

As you explore, you will also discover the journey of Ricard’s remarkable career. From his early inspirations in the Vall d’Aran and his first projects for Perfumes Puig to his influential books and his iconic work for the 1992 Olympic Games, each section tells the story of a man who shaped the way we live.
