The Museo de Historia de Madrid is dedicated to telling the story of Madrid from its origins to the early 20th century.
Located on Calle Fuencarral, the museum is housed in a striking 18th-century Baroque building designed by architect Pedro de Ribera, originally built as the Royal Hospice of San Fernando.
The collection includes paintings, maps, models, photographs, furniture, and decorative arts, offering insight into Madrid’s urban development, daily life, and political transformations.
Visitors can explore how Madrid evolved from a small town to the capital of Spain, with special focus on key periods such as the Bourbon reforms and the 19th century.
