The Fundación Canal runs one of Madrid’s most distinctive exhibition venues: the Sala Canal de Isabel II, located in a former water deposit tower in the Chamberí district.
Originally built in the early 20th century as part of Madrid’s water supply infrastructure, the cylindrical building was later transformed into a cultural space. Its vertical, circular architecture creates a unique exhibition experience, with works displayed along ascending levels connected by ramps.
The venue is especially known for its photography exhibitions, often dedicated to major national and international photographers, as well as thematic shows exploring fashion, documentary, portraiture, and visual culture.
