"Contact" was Olafur Eliasson's inaugural exhibition at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, presented from December 2014 to February 2015 as the institution's first major solo artist show. The exhibition transformed the Frank Gehry-designed building into an immersive perceptual laboratory, featuring a series of large-scale installations that used light, darkness, water, mirrors, and fog to alter visitors' awareness of space, time, and their own bodies. The centerpiece works included vast darkened rooms illuminated by sweeping arcs of light and reflective surfaces that created the sensation of floating in deep space.

Eliasson conceived "Contact" as an exploration of the relationship between seeing and feeling, challenging visitors to slow down and attend to their own perception. The exhibition drew on cosmological themes — the title referencing humanity's desire to make contact with something beyond itself — while grounding these ideas in intensely physical sensory experiences. The works collectively transformed the Fondation Louis Vuitton's galleries into environments where the architecture itself seemed to dissolve, replaced by light and shadow that responded to visitors' movements through the space.
